Cookie Policy
Last Updated: March 14, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how MK Piano Studio (operated by MK SAS, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.
Cookies help a website remember information about your visit. Some cookies are necessary for core functions, while others help us understand usage patterns or measure advertising performance. Under EU and French privacy rules, certain categories require your consent before they are set on your device.
1) What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies may be “session cookies” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent cookies” (kept until they expire or you delete them).
In addition to cookies, websites may use similar technologies, including:
- Pixel tags (sometimes called web beacons) that record a page view or conversion event.
- Local storage or comparable browser storage, depending on your browser settings.
- Server-side event collection used for security logging and, where enabled, advertising measurement.
These technologies may process information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken on the site. When such information can identify you directly or indirectly, it is treated as personal data under GDPR.
2) Cookie lifespan and origin
Cookies can be classified by their lifespan and by who sets them:
- Session cookies remain only while your browser is open and are removed when you close it.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.
- First-party cookies are set by our website domain.
- Third-party cookies are set by a provider’s domain (for example, analytics or advertising providers) when those tools are activated.
3) Cookie categories we use
We group cookies into three categories. These categories match the preferences you can manage in our cookie banner and cookie preferences panel.
A) Essential cookies (always active)
Essential cookies are required for the site to function and for basic security. They do not require consent under applicable rules because without them the site cannot operate reliably. Examples include maintaining session continuity, storing your cookie preference choice, and preventing abusive requests.
- Remembering your cookie preference selection so you are not asked repeatedly.
- Supporting basic session continuity and request integrity.
- Stability and security controls that protect the website and forms.
B) Analytics cookies (consent required)
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site: which pages are visited, how long users stay, and which content is most useful. This information is used to improve lesson information, page structure, and the booking experience. Analytics cookies activate only after you provide consent.
When analytics is enabled, we may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4). In typical configurations, IP anonymization and other privacy controls are applied to reduce identifiability. Analytics retention is commonly set to 14 months for event data.
C) Marketing cookies (consent required)
Marketing cookies are used to measure advertising performance and support remarketing. They help attribute a booking inquiry to an ad campaign and may allow us to show relevant ads to people who previously visited our pages. Marketing cookies activate only after you provide consent.
When marketing is enabled, tools may include Google Ads conversion measurement and Meta advertising measurement. These tools may use cookies, pixel tags, or server-side events (where configured) to record page views or conversion events. We do not use marketing cookies to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4) Cookie table
The table below lists cookies commonly associated with the categories described above. Some third-party cookies are only present if the relevant tools are activated after consent.
| Name | Purpose | Category | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _site_session | Site session continuity | Essential | First-party | Session |
| cookie_consent | Stores your consent choice | Essential | First-party | 12 months |
| _ga | GA4 user identifier | Analytics | Third-party | 2 years |
| _ga_XXXXXXXXXX | GA4 session state (10-char GA4 ID) | Analytics | Third-party | 2 years |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads conversion linker | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |
| _fbp | Meta Pixel browser identifier | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta Pixel click identifier | Marketing | Third-party | 90 days |
5) Third-party providers
Depending on your consent choices and configuration, we may use the following providers:
- Google LLC for Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads measurement (if enabled by consent).
- Meta Platforms for advertising measurement and remarketing (if enabled by consent).
- Cloudflare for performance and security services that may process IP-based threat signals.
We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes. Their processing is governed by their respective terms and privacy documentation, and by our contractual controls where applicable.
6) How to manage your cookie preferences
You can manage cookies in several ways:
- On this website: use “Manage cookie preferences” in the footer to open the cookie banner and adjust your choices. Your selection is stored in the cookie_consent cookie.
- Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect site functionality.
- Opt-out tools: some providers offer opt-out mechanisms, such as Google Analytics opt-out, ad settings controls, and industry choice tools for advertising preferences.
If you withdraw consent, we will stop using non-essential categories going forward. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before you changed your preferences.
7) Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technologies, legal requirements, or how our website operates. When we make material updates, we will reflect the new date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice on the website.
